How to revert back to Minecraft 1.3

Step one: download this. (http://www.mediafire.com/?f9akffl9d8l6j1v). This is the Minecraft Beta 1.3_01 Minecraft.jar.

Step two: Load up Minecraft and click on the "Options" button on the launcher, and click on the link that says "location on disk". Then, find the bin folder and move the minecraft.jar that you downloaded. into it. If it asks you if you want to override the current minecraft.jar, say yes.

Step three: Load up Minecraft and if it asks to update, say "No". You should now be able to connect to any SMP server!

Is this process the same on a mac? because i've tried to revert, and it doesn't work....
so, unless someone can find the problem, 405 is out of commission

I'll look into how to do this on Mac.

No, it's not the same, mac doesn't seem to like .jar files
Try to Find an old version of minecraft 1.3 for mac, and re install that

Macs also have a very different file structure

I'll try that, if you an find another source of that bin.zip file. the website says that there page cannot be found.

This doesn't work for fromdust anymore!

Just allow the game to update normally the server has been 1.4 compatible for a long time now.

Alric hes talking about the new 1.5 update it came out today, and just dont update is it that hard to say no? lol well i geuss it is because their is no one on the server at 10 AM Pacific. during spring break?
